A native of Litchfield, Michael is excited to be back in his hometown teaching regularly at Charym. He has been teaching since 2011 after completing his 200hr certification with West Hartford Yoga. He has studied with various national instructors and continues to explore all types of yoga and movement practices. He currently teaches a full time schedule of open classes throughout the state and also provides team yoga instruction for the U Conn Athletic Department as well as Trinity College Swimming and Diving. He also enjoys working one-on-one with students, helping them break through limitations or blockages through movement and somatic awareness.
His classes are challenging yet accessible with creative sequencing, use of props, and occasional humor to keep things light. Thanks in part to his his previous experience in medical device sale and a longstanding interest in the structure and working of human anatomy, Michael tries to infuse this information into the core of his teaching.
In 2018 Michael graduated from the Cortiva Institute in Newington, CT (formerly CCMT) and is now a practicing licensed massage therapist (#10247). He is currently seeing clients in Litchfield by appointment only at the Body Tree, 3 West St. (above At the Corner).
In 2018, Michael began in depth study with Nevine Michaan at Katonah Yoga in Bedford, NY. He looks forward to continuing to expand his knowledge base and incorporate new techniques and approaches to the practice and care of the body.
