Crystal Sheehan

I initially started practicing yoga for anxiety relief, back pain relief, and a natural way to sleep better. Throughout the years, I realized how beneficial yoga has been in so many more ways than I was seeking, and wanted to share my practice and internal healing with others.

I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Certification in June 2021, and I am currently working on my 500hr certification.

I dove into teaching right away, with focus on special populations and a more therapeutic practice. I wanted to help others build strength and mental ease through movement and breath work. You'll find that most of my classes are based on therapeutic and strength building practice through breath work, deep stretching and gentle movement, while focusing on optimal physical alignment and creating balance, leading up to a flow designed to strengthen and challenge as well as rejuvenate and relax the entire mind and body.

I practice and teach a variety of styles including flow, vinyasa, Y12SR, Yoga for addiction and recovery, heated sculpt, yin/yang, therapeutic, restorative, and chair yoga to all ages and all abilities.

Since completing my initial certification I have expanded my practice, education, certifications and interests. I started learning new styles of yoga and meditation as well as other methods of healing, including Sound Healing.

The first time I played a gong, I was just having fun with it, but I quickly picked up on how the vibrational effect of a gong can change the energy of a room and the calming power it can release. I knew I had to learn more and to try other instruments, so I did… and have grown my collection with crystal singing bowls, chimes, rainsticks and other instruments, anything that can produce energetic and soothing sensations throughout the body. I found an amazing course to complete my Sound Healing Practitioner Certification so that I can understand more and offer this gift of releasing energy through sound healing and meditation to others.

The first time I took a class at Charym I was drawn in by the welcoming bright aura of the studio and the connection the members and the other teachers shared. I have always felt welcomed and part of a great team with everyone at Charym, and I am truly grateful for that.
