Emile Sorger

Emile is a New Milford based yoga teacher.  He is regarded as an innovator in the field of vinyasa yoga and seen as a resource for those who are just starting out with yoga to experienced practitioners and teachers who are seeking to expand their practice beyond its conventional boundaries and everything in-between.

Emile began teaching in 2009 while completing his undergraduate degree in Comparative Religion from Goucher College.  In 2011 he completed a 200 hour training at Charm City Yoga (now Yogaworks) under the guidance of Kim Manfredi and Will Walter.  Early on, an energetic, physical and spiritually uplifting style of teaching became the signature of his classes.

In 2012 Emile began studying with Nevine Michaan at Katonah Yoga in New York City and the Hudson Valley.  The Katonah approach to the esoteric and physical elements of yoga further enhanced his approach to yoga and have become an integral part of his teaching.  Emile was certified as a Katonah yoga teacher in the summer of 2019 and proudly regards that tradition as his primary lineage.

From 2015 - 2019 Emile owned The Yoga and Movement Sanctuary, a Philadelphia yoga studio and neighborhood space which invited people of all ages, shapes and sizes into the practice of yoga and other forms of healthy, holistic movement.  After closing the studio during the early days of the pandemic, Emile and his family moved to northwestern Connecticut where they now reside.

Emile is available for private yoga sessions in the studio or at your location! Email info@charym.com for more details and to book!
