Michele Saunders

Michele has been practicing and teaching yoga for decades, bringing a unique blend of experience, knowledge, and practical application to every class. As a physical therapist, she integrates a deep understanding of muscular and soft tissue systems into her teaching, creating classes that are both grounded in traditional yoga and informed by modern movement science.

Her approach emphasizes functional strength, flexibility, balance, and alignment, with thoughtful sequencing designed to support the way we move in everyday life. Michele is passionate about helping students understand how their bodies work and uses yoga as a tool to improve posture, prevent injury, and enhance performance in sports, recreation, and daily activities.

Known for her ability to "prescribe" yoga to address specific physical challenges, Michele helps students build resilience, move with greater confidence, and prepare their bodies for bold, active, and adventurous lives. Her classes are strong, practical, and accessible, leaving students feeling empowered, stronger, and more aligned both on and off the mat.

Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, Michele's instruction offers a thoughtful blend of traditional practice, functional movement, and individualized guidance to help you move and feel your best.

Michele has called Litchfield home for the past 20 years and is delighted to return to teaching at Charym. She enjoys being outdoors with her husband,  two daughters, a crazy black Labrador and a network of Litchfield friends to enjoy all that Litchfield has to offer. Michele is also the founder of a growing online community and marketplace created to empower professional petite women. Through this work, she combines her interests in wellness, entrepreneurship, and helping women build lives and careers with confidence and authenticity.
